MIRA SHAKER
Counselor & Psychotherapist
Mira is a counselor and psychotherapist committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive environment for clients to explore their personal challenges and growth.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from The American University in Cairo and an MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy from Keele University, UK. Mira is a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and is currently working towards accreditation. With over two years of experience in both the UK and Egypt, she brings a culturally sensitive approach to her practice.
Mira is trained in person-centred therapy, which prioritises safety, acceptance, and unconditional support in the therapeutic relationship. While this forms the foundation of her work, she describes her approach as integrative, tailoring therapy to meet each client’s unique needs. She holds a diploma in schema therapy, a certification in CBT for anxiety from the Beck Institute, and incorporates DBT skills into her sessions. For Mira, therapy is not just about tools or techniques but about meeting clients where they are and addressing what they need in the moment.
She has a strong passion for inner child work, helping clients understand how their past influences their present. Mira works with adults aged 21 and above, offering support for a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, depression, relationship difficulties, gender identity, and communication issues.
Mira conducts therapy in both English and Arabic and offers sessions online as well as face-to-face.
